The Social Health Authority (SHA) has appointed two Assistant Directors and six Principal Claims Management Officers.

Chairperson Abdi Mohamed said the appointments will be instrumental in optimising the benefits administration and accelerating the processing of claims, reinforcing the Authority’s commitment to transparency and financial protection for all Kenyans.

According to the SHA, the latest appointments on Thursday were the result of a rigorous, competitive and transparent recruitment process initiated on July 29, 2025.

This process saw the selection of two Assistant Directors, Claims Management, and six Principal Claims Management Officers, who are expected to play a pivotal role in streamlining claims administration for the Authority’s beneficiaries and partners.

The newly appointed Assistant Directors are Aggrey Achola and Zainab Dida Golicha.

They will provide strategic leadership in the management of claims, ensuring that the Authority’s operations remain seamless and responsive.

Joining them, the six Principal Claims Management Officers are Dorothy Wasike, Samson Okware Iliwal, Michelle Mwendwa Nguu, Ida Dalima Randal, Catherine Mukui Kilonzo, and Mohamednoor Mohamud.

Together, these professionals bring a wealth of expertise that SHA believes will be crucial in enhancing the Authority’s benefits administration and claims processing efficiency.

In a statement, Chairperson of the SHA Board, Abdi Mohamed, said, “These professionals join SHA at a pivotal moment. Their collective expertise will be instrumental in optimising our benefits administration and accelerating the processing of claims, directly supporting our mandate of providing financial risk protection to all Kenyans.”

Mohamed added that the Board remains “deeply grateful to the entire SHA staff. Your steadfast commitment and cooperation with the interim management team have been the bedrock of this successful transition.”

The appointments underline SHA’s commitment to delivering a transparent and efficient claims system for its beneficiaries.

The Authority emphasised that ensuring a smooth and accountable claims process is central to its mission of providing financial risk protection to Kenyans, a goal that becomes increasingly critical as healthcare demands grow across the country.

The new management team is expected to hit the ground running, implementing strategies and policies aimed at improving the speed and accuracy of claims processing.

By reinforcing its leadership in claims management, SHA aims to strengthen trust with partners and beneficiaries alike, ensuring that the Authority’s services are both effective and accountable.

The Authority’s statement also highlighted that these appointments are central to its commitment to ensuring a seamless, transparent, and responsive claims process.

This reinforces the idea that SHA is focused not only on operational efficiency but also on safeguarding public confidence in its healthcare programmes.

The announcement comes at a time when SHA is entering a critical expansion phase.

With a clear focus on improving healthcare purchasing and benefits administration, the new leadership team is expected to play a crucial role in guiding the Authority through this period of growth.

By appointing these key professionals, SHA is signalling its determination to uphold high standards of service delivery while continuing to provide robust financial protection for all Kenyans.

The SHA Chairperson emphasised, the successful transition and the ongoing dedication of SHA staff provide a strong foundation for future progress in the Authority’s operational and strategic objectives.
